Having a lifelong interest for visual arts, Art decided to learn how to draw and paint and has taken classes with Patsy Taylor since early 2018. He has found a new passion as he explores the world around him and interprets it in his own vision. Art was born in Oakland and has lived in Guadalajara, Alamo, Oxnard, Los Angeles, Neuchatel, Paris, Washington DC, and NYC.
He loves living in Walnut Creek with his family and golden retrievers. He also serves as the current president of the Kennedy-King Memorial College Scholarship Fund, LTD.

I started painting on small canvases, but over time I have come to love working on larger canvases. There is a certain freedom a large canvas allows. Many feel intimidated filling the space, but it takes me away from little brush strokes and focusing on minutia. One of my current fun projects is painting a large corner of my backyard transforming it from a drab part of the garden to an explosion of color. I have also started exploring acrylics and have great fun with them because of the freedom for expression they allow.

Painting effects such a euphoric liberation from constraints I have encountered most of my professional life that I don't want to limit myself. I love all subject matter: landscape, portraits, abstract. I also love love love color and continue to explore its uses. While most of my work is referential, I want to explore painting more how something feels rather than how it looks.
I have come to discover, I don't like flat paintings. I like to paint fast; precision is painful and not always necessary. Sometimes its best to go with the flow. And yet, sometimes it is best to enjoy the time spent with a friend.
